First Tee – North Florida College and LPGA/PGA Scholarships
The Mission of the First Tee – North Florida Scholarship Program is to provide educational opportunities to participants, alumni, and golf industry professionals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to and/or excellence through First Tee – North Florida and will be a life-long ambassador of the game.

The Karl G. Estes Participant College Scholarship
Up to a $20,000 scholarship awarded, with up to $5,000 per academic year renewable up to
four consecutive academic years to an active participant that is in their senior year of high school.
Requirements Include:
- Minimum three years with First Tee – North Florida
- Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Birdie Level or above
- Minimum 40 Volunteer Hours with First Tee – North Florida

The Bill Carpenter Scholarship
Created in memory of Bill Carpenter, this is a competitive application that will be based on an applicant’s
academic achievement, community involvement, and commitment to First Tee – North Florida.
The scholarship recipients will receive a one-time $1,000 scholarship.
Requirements Include:
- High School Senior
- GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Successful completion of Birdie Certification Requirements
- Minimum three years with First Tee – North Florida

The David Rimmer Scholarship
Created in memory of David Rimmer, an assistant golf professional who loved junior golf.
The scholarship recipients will receive a one-time ($TBD) scholarship.
Requirements Include:
- High School Senior
- GPA of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale
- Successful completion of Birdie Certification Requirements
- Minimum three years with First Tee – North Florida
- Accepted into an accredited college or university.

The Thomas L. Stecker PGA/LPGA Education Scholarship (Must be PGA or LPGA Assistant to apply)
A scholarship awarded to a current PGA/LPGA Assistant or Apprentice to cover
their seminar sessions at the PGA Education Center or LPGA Teacher Education Classes.
Requirements Include:
- Work/volunteer at a partnering course/club of First Tee – North Florida
- Minimum 12 months in the golf industry
- Completed PGA/LPGA Apprentice Process
- Current on PGA/LPGA Dues
