First Tee Community Program
Specifically written for coaches and volunteers at youth-serving organizations, the First Tee COMMUNITY PROGRAM (formerly “DRIVE”) is a set of 18 golf activity plans designed to provide a fun, engaging program which introduces kids to golf and exposes them to the behaviors associated with First Tee’s Nine Core Values. The activity plans are designed in a way that allows for indoor and outdoor set up to fit a variety of locations such as gymnasiums, basketball courts, baseball, football, and soccer fields.
Using modified golf equipment, kids are introduced to these core value behaviors through games and sports they may already be familiar with, such as baseball, football, bowling and tennis; however, these games are modified to incorporate the four basic golf shots – putt, chip, pitch, and full swing.
First Tee – North Florida connects with kids, families, and the community at festivals and fairs by providing an informational booth and golf activities. A few of the events we have partnered with include:
- Orange Park Kids Fest
- Orange Park Fall Festival
- Florida Striders Resolution Run 5K
- Amelia Island Farmers Market
- Jacksonville Science Festival
- Ancient City Kids Day
- NAS Jax Fall Festival
- Jacksonville Business Connections Community Events
- St. Johns County School District Character Cup
- Clay and Duval County Schools Fitness Nights
- Volusia County Schools FACT Fairs
If you host or know of a community event that would like to have an additional activity for the young people in attendance, let us know!
