(All children who are 7 years old or above and new to First Tee)
PLAYer Level helps establish the foundation for young people to become life-long PLAYers of the game. By creating opportunities for new PLAYers to get on a real or simulated golf course and play as soon as they enter First Tee, they are exposed to the game where and how it is played. The PLAYer level has three areas of focus – play, learn, and appreciate – and when combined they are designed to result in one outcome. That is to help PLAYers learn, develop, and play their game. Classes are offered in 5-week sessions that meet once per week and each class is 1.5 hours long.
(Must be at least 9 years old and pass PLAYer asssessment to begin)
PLAYers are introduced to the mental side of playing golf while learning skills that will help them on and off the golf course. The main focus of the Par level is to assist PLAYers in acquiring several self-management techniques that will help them in managing their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in order to perform at their best on and off the golf course. Classes are offered in 5-week sessions that meet once per week and each class is 1.5 hours long.
