Position: Golf and Life Skills Coach
Reports To: Director of Programming
Direct Reports: None
Job Classification: Part-time, Nonexempt
Starting Pay: $13.00 per hour

The Golf and Life Skills Coach is responsible for guiding and coaching young people to become responsible future citizens and committed, active golfers. Positively impacting their lives through First Tee Programs using lesson plans and First Tee Coach Building Blocks.

Essential Functions: 

  • Become proficient in the delivery of First Tee Life Programs: TARGET, PLAYer, and Par level classes
  • Teaches and supports First Tee Nine Core Values and First Tee Healthy Habits curriculum
  • Follows assigned lesson plans on life skills, golf skills, rules, and etiquette
  • Set up safe and activity-based learning environments that are age and skill appropriate for class level
  • Appreciates and cares for program participants, provides encouragement and motivation to help youth maximize performance
  • Maintains attendance and performance records for participants
  • Maintain the quality of equipment and all instructional areas
  • Serves as an advocate and role model for First Tee – North Florida in the community

Education and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience working with children in a supervised setting (preferred)
  • Knowledge of the game of golf, rules and etiquette
  • Ability to travel to attend Coach Training sessions, Academies, and meetings
  • Reliable, trustworthy, dependable, able to maintain consistent and regular attendance
